This is a poem about seeing 'The Ordinaries' at Carnival in the Castle in Winchester.

    Castle

    Sometimes there are breath-less days
The sort that gobble up light
    They freeze me now
    Like IT once did then
(Before I learnt how to fight)

    No gentle words
    Are ever found
    In the memory box
    Shut tight
    No comfort lives
    In the crowds quick rush
And I wonder (from somewhere inside)
Is there room for me in the world beyond?
Is there any way out at all?
    Cos the cut they made
    Was cruel and wide
And the Heavy door shut so tight
    O those cuts they made
    Were deep and wide
    They still fill my lungs
    With the pasts pressing tide…

    On a breath-less day
    I fought that tide
    I wanted to journey
When it told me to hide
    I fought and I won
    And I entered the castle
Just as the show had begun.

    It’s not easy to watch
    The plays story unfold
    Blind eyes
    Fiercely burnt by new sun
    But all the words
    Were gentle and soft
    Carefully spun rays
    Slowly melting a frost
    Poetry’s rhythm
    Calming old tides
    Comfort cradles honesty
    Revealing what was lost

    I couldn’t have known then
How to cope with what I saw
But I watched in the castle
    With my soul open wide
    Till a little lost voice
    Left strangled inside
    Discovered an opening
    In the Heavy old door
    No longer shut tight-
    Over months, over years
    I’ve gathered my strength-
    Now stepping outside
    I breathe in pure light

Hiya, i saw Terrible Tales at the Hat Fair on Saturday. I really enjoyed it - it was really clever and imaginative. I also came to see Angelrust, which was great. The sillouhettes reminded me of Lotte Reiniger's stuff, and the puppetry was fantastic (especially the dancing lamp). Really enjoying your stuff, keep it up!

    Hi
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Lilly through the dark and thought it was rather inspiring. My main purpose for writing this email is to ask you for help. I have a GCSE Drama paper in only 3 days time. I have been working like a Troshean trying to gather information about this production as I liked it very much and have even decided to write about it for my exam.
I particularly enjoyed the scene when we meet the character Alice for the first time. I was just wondering if you could post me any comments into why you chose to develop such a scene and what part this character plays in the story. I thought they were rather quirky but is there some sort of hidden metaphor in the way the character is portrayed. I would love to know!
Hope to hear from you soon

I came to see 'Lilly Through the Dark' last week. It was a very special show. I hope you will be coming to a venue near me this summer. I shall bring friends to see your work. (I note that someone has mentioned Cambridge... that would be good! The Rhodes Centre in Bishop's Stortford would be even better...and they do sometimes take shows such as this.) Good luck with your work.

I saw 'Lily Through the Dark' at BAC. I loved it! The show was so beautiful, funny and moving. It was so refreshing to see such good quality theatre. I especially liked the two 'hanged men' and Lily and well..everything. I will definitely keep a look out for your future work.

I saw 'The Ordinaries' a few years ago and was totally entranced, unfortunately I was too late to gain tickets for 'Lilly Through the Dark' at this year's Fringe. I live near the Cambridge area and I hope you will bring you Summer 2010 tour to one of the surrounding theatres!
